[Bug 45363] Ubuntu Dapper Splash Screen doubled (Ubuntu-slick.png)

Public bug reported:

I have updated Ubuntu few days ago, and after this it started to give me
some troubles. The cdrom icon was on the down tray, disappeared and the
splash screen with the Ubuntu's logo is doubled, I mean one over the
other (so they are 2 at place than 1). I would send you a pict I made to
show what happens bt I don't know where and how. Anyway: is it possible
to fix the problem? I already have tried to find a solution in the
italian forum (I write from Italy) but till today no answer came here so
I decided to ask to you. Can you help me?
