Bismillaah. Salaam/Peace. Thanks for your reply. However, I have no technical knowledge of Linux systems. Perhaps you can guide me in finding the problem that is sidetracking this systems volume. Literally, I now have no control of Ubuntu's volume control. The icon at the top of Ubuntu's screen is presently inoperative. Best regards, Abdul
