Brasero appears at the Ubuntu Software Center by default (using a default Ubuntu install CD, I don't know with Mythbuntu. If you can't find it is probably because you don't have the appropriated software sources (you can enable software sources at the Software Center by clicking on Edit->Software Sources).
Besides that, is there a way you could try to reproduce this, using a default Ubuntu 10.04 CD? (instead of Mythbuntu). Maybe this is Mythbuntu related. I tried and couldn't reproduce this bug in Ubuntu 10.10.
