Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi!

I installed Pidgin to have a more comfortable IM-Client (for me) on
Ubuntu 10.10.

Now I always have the problem, when I start Evolution and Pidgin is
running at the same time, Evolution didn't start or failed after a few
minutes. It seems pidgin and evolution conflicts with each other.

I already did a little bit tracing. And add a valgrind check:

$ G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly  valgrind -v --tool=memcheck
--leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=valgrind.log /usr/bin/evolution
Tracker-Message: Registering D-Bus service...
  Name:'org.freedesktop.Tracker1.Miner.Emails'
Tracker-Message: Registering D-Bus object...
Tracker-Message:   Path:'/org/freedesktop/Tracker1/Miner/Emails'
Tracker-Message:   Object Type:'TrackerEvolutionPlugin'
EI: MAIL PREFSKilled

and the output from evolution --debug:

$ /usr/bin/evolution --debug="evolution.debug"
Segmentation fault

as attachment.

Best Regards,
Sebastian
