Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution does a lot of work on shutdown - it downloads messages for
offline viewing, updates folder contents, filters mail, and (if these
things take long enough) actually downloads new mail.

At the very least the periodic new mail checking should be disabled
during shutdown, but ideally evolution should do the bare minimum to
ensure that local mail changes are reflected server-side and nothing
more.
