Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

i have not been able to play any dvd's since usaing ubuntu linux 10.10, or any
of the previous versions of ubuntu. when i palce a dvd iin the player and start
any of the installed dvd /movie players i get the same message and results.
the title will play and the fbi warniing will display. but when they are done
the movie closes and i get the warning unable to read from source. Ive tried
several times to correct this problem by openig a termonal and trying to
download and install certain fixes that people have sent me to correct the
problems, but as i dont realy understand the functions of linux and entering
files opr writing drivers and programs i have had no sucess. the
function/operation of linux systems are beyond my abilities to understand the
workings.
If there is a simple fix to this problem, please let me know as im about ready
to switch all 5 of my machines back to windows again. and I like ubuntu very
much. thanks for your help. Bill huff. [email protected]
