Erik, i can confirm i have the same issue as you.
Regularly i am notified in the top bubble, and in the chat window receive a
duplicate of two messages.
an example is listed below:
friend:
lol
lol
me:
i shall go on laptop now, so will be right back
friend:
ok bye bye
ok bye bye
