** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Clicking on the clock applet pops up a calendar with the dates and the
  weather at different locations.

Normally the clock applet is used on the top-right side of the screen
and the pop up appears with the top-right corner of the pop-up aligned
with the top-right edge of the screen right below the panel. This is
okay if the panel is horizontal, whether at the top or bottom.

  Expected behaviour:
- The pop-up is supposed to appear as close as possible to the clock-applet in
such a way that it remains visible and it does not overlap with other panels.
+ The pop-up is supposed to appear in a corner of the desktop as close as
possible to the clock-applet in such a way that it remains visible and it does
not overlap with other panels.

  What actually happens:
If the panel is vertical the calendar is aligned to the top edge of the
applet ignoring the screen edges, which means that the popup will be drawn
outside the screen (as seen on the attachments).
To make matters worse, expanding the locations or tasks in the calendar will
kick the pop-up even further away from the applet, and totally outside the
screen!
