Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xchat-gnome
I have a .xprofile script to launch xchat and other apps I always like
to have in session. Unfortunately, when I do this xchat-gnome comes up
with the GNOME default window decorations, not the Ubuntu Ambiance theme
decorations that it should.
I notice that the apps in .xprofile seem to start up prior to the window
manager being fully initialized. Sometimes I'll see gnome-terminal
loaded also with the GNOME default decorations. However, at some point
the window manager must send a signal or gnome-terminal notices the
theme change or something, and it gains the correct decorations. xchat-
gnome never seems to get the message in this case.
This issue has been present for several releases at least. Also, it
doesn't happen on every boot, but maybe 25% of the time. I guess it's a
race condition between the WM coming up and xchat-gnome. I've attempted
putting in sleeps to the xchat-gnome invocation which I suppose helps
but I still see the incorrect behavior from time to time.
