Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Ubuntu 10.10, realease 10.10, 32-bit
Dell Inspiron 1720

The bug is in the panel, so I would guess it relates to the Gnome
package. I have Gnome Panel 2.30.2.

As you can see in bug.png attached, my user drop-down menu repeats so
that I can't access the power symbol for shutting down, restarting, etc.
When I switch the panel to the bottom of my desktop, the issue stays,
but when I switch it to the side of my desktop, the power symbol comes
back and everything is fine. I can then switch it to the top of my
desktop, and it works as it should, with the power symbol in the correct
place.
