Looking at .xsession-errors I see some issues with GSettings and
default browser:
GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.default-
applications.browser' is not installed
attached files:
.xsession-errors and the output of "rgrep default-applications
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/"
