Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gdm
I use a laptop with an external monitor. When using the external
monitor, the display is configured to be on the external monitor only.
If I disconnect the external monitor, or even if I shut down and then
reboot with the external monitor disconnected, the display does not show
up on the laptop monitor at all. This used to work fine in Maverick, so
I guess it's a regression in Natty Alpha 3.
Workarounds:
1. Switch the display to be on the laptop monitor only before disconnecting or
shutting down, or
2. Boot into recovery mode and modify .config/monitors.xml and set "primary" to
"yes"; then reboot in normal mode.
Please let me know if any more information is required.
