Hello Pedro,

It took some time for me to install Natty Narwhal, which I did by
upgrading from 10.04 LTS. Before the install, I tested gnome-
screensaver in the live CD environment to see if the issue occurred with
the standard display driver (possibly Nouveau): it does not. I then did
a system upgrade, which was necessary to use the Nvidia driver. Having
activated this, I installed xscreensaver, xscreensaver-data-extra and
xscreensaver-gl-extra, then brought up the gnome-screensaver preferences
and set it to use the Substrate screensaver. Clicking the 'Preview'
button, the first couple of tests showed the correct white background.
I closed the preview and selected another screensaver, then went back to
Substrate. The mini-preview window showed the white background
correctly, but showing the full-screen preview brought up the incorrect
black background. To summarise: the screensaver small screen preview
(sorry, I do not know the proper name for it) shows the correct white
background, but the full-screen preview still occasionally sets the
background to black.

Based on the fact that I have never been able to make this bug appear
with another display driver, I'd guess that it's an Nvidia driver issue,
though I don't know for sure.
