Hello Pedro, thanks for the fast reply. Link type is part of the free desktop spec so I am assuming gnome-panel not displaying them is gnome-panel not following the spec? http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-1.0.html
Since you're already a member over at gnome maybe you would in a better position to file a bug? Thank you in advance for doing that and making gnome-panel better. Perhaps you can link to the bug here once your are done too so others following the progress here can see the status over at gnome.
