Public bug reported:
Simply put, as of right now, mplayer-plugin is a superior application;
for instance, sound works when playing quicktime files, etc.
As such, I'd much prefer to use it instead. However, as far as I know
(and, I could be wrong) there is no way to decide which MIME type a
given plugin will handle exclusively in Firefox 2.0. This means that,
short of writing an extension or renaming the plugin filename, I'm stuck
with totem-mozilla as to uninstall it I would also have to uninstall the
ubuntu-desktop metapackage.
The way it should be handled: make it so that nothing depends on it.
Seriously, it's a multimedia handler for Firefox. Or have it conflict
with mozilla-mplayer so that it gets uninstalled when you install the
other.
This is... suboptimal.
