Thanks for the report, can you execute: df -hT when plugged in the
device and paste the output of that command to the report? Might be
because rhythmbox converts some songs to be transferred so that's why
its using more space, but lets see, please execute that command and
attach the output to the report, thanks.

Rhythmbox reports "There is not enough space on the device to transfer
the selected music, playlists and podcasts" when amount of free space
