You have been subscribed to a public bug: Using Ubuntu 11.04, Totem (the default media player) is not able to seek (that is, to forward or go back in time) whenever the individual media file is read from a mounted ISO archive -- the seek bar at the bottom is locked out.
Whenever individual media files are extracted, using the archive manager, from such an archive, for example containing .wmv, .avi, and .flv files, the seek bar at the bottom works as it should. However, double-clicking on such an ISO, which mounts and puts it on the desktop by default, while allowing the browsed-through-mounted-ISO opened files to be played without extraction, which is ideal, renders them completely unseekable, whatever the type of individual media file. The ISOs were build using the defaults settings of UltraISO under Windows, if that matters at all. None of the ISO files were compressed to start with from my own knowledge. Post #6 over at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11003505 seems to indicate this is a reproducible issue.
