Public bug reported:
A fairly new pc running 11.04 with latest updates and BIOS. During
login, each key must be depressed for about one second until a dot
appears. I reloaded 11.04 in June and it fixed this problem but weeks
later, after updates, it came back. All this occurred w/orig BIOS. I
updated BIOS (AFTER problems) but didn't fix it. I tried Sys sets >
Assis Tech > Keybrd and tried setting Only Accept Long Keypresses and
setting it short, but had no effect. I tried disabling gdm by "sudo
sys-rc-conf" and by gdm, put X under ALL run levels, rebooted and no
effect ie same gui with slow key read. Swapped keyboards, no change.
My other pc, running 11.04, works ok. It's 1.5 years old, the problem
one is only 6 months old. After login, keyboard works perfect.
