Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This issue was reported while 11.04 was in the
development release stage. It would help us greatly if you could test
with the final 11.04 release of Ubuntu. Thanks again and we appreciate
your help.

** Description changed:

- In a fresh installation of 10.10 automatic login to the default user
+ In a fresh installation of 11.04 automatic login to the default user
  fails with the system hanging.

  The only way to get around this is to have the user's automatic login
  disabled and login from the login window instead.

  I've been able to 'start/stop gdm' and have it sometimes open up to the
  default user account.

** Package changed: ubuntu => gdm (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete
