Public bug reported:

as of relatively recently in oneiric, empathy chat dialogs no longer
open.

double clicking a contact in the contact list opens a gnome-shell
message tray bubble, but clicking on that bubble doesn't open an empathy
chat dialog.

there appears to be no way to enter a group chat, and clicking on room
-> group chat name does nothing.
