Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
This is on a fully updated feisty installation.
I was trying to set up my M-Audio Delta Audiophile 24/69 (ICE1712) as default
soundcard using gnome-sound-properties dialogue.
It wrote both the .asoundrc and .asoundrc.asoundconf files, but there was no
sound. Mplayer told me that defaults.pcm.dmix_rate was missing and adding it to
.asoundrc.asoundconf did work as a fix.
