When in a folder with multiple files, you normally can select a file by
name by typing the name of the file. A small box appears below the
nautilus window containing the search text.
In the nautilus currently in 11.10b1, the search box disappears while I
am typing. It doesn't seem to be a focus issue because nautilus is
focused the whole time. It varies betweend disappearing almost
instantly, or after a second, but in either case it is very rapid, too
rapid to type a full filename.
