The "Turn off after" option is set to 10 minutes. And the screen does seem to turn off after that time, or as near that I've not noticed it doing otherwise.
At some unmeasured time after that (but way, way less than an hour) waking it again requires the password. I see no "dim screen" option anywhere in System Settings.
