Why you changed the status to "Fix released"?

What you mean by "fix" - in my opinon periodical manual (or made by
cron) removing of the contents of ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata/ and
killing of gvfsd-metadata processes could not be treated as "fix".

The problem still persists on 10.04 ans is very annoying, especially
when home directories reside on nfs server: it lead to server's hang
very often: each workstation begins to generate up to 100mbit/sec
traffic.
