In Oneiric Beta up to date 4th Oct 2011 in Mouse and Touchpad settings Mouse
Pointer Sensitivity seems to do little or nothing, at least when the
Acceleration is low. When the accel is high then setting the sensitivity high
apparently *reduces* the acceleration.
