This seems to affect any 'special' characters in an album title not non-ascii.
I just had issues with an ampersand and single-quote.
Debian GNU/Linux 'Wheezy'; F-Spot 0.8.2 from
0.8.2-0ubuntu1~f-spot-ppa~maverick1.
