Just one thing (I don't know if it's a problem or not): on a natty system there is file: /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-session.schemas However on my promlematic oneiric notebook is does not exist. However since they are different ubuntu&gnme releases, maybe it's not even a problem.
