Sebastien, the problem is that Gaim 1.5.0 checks that the length of the date is exactly X (whatever X is, I don't remember). Gaim 2.0.0 names log files with a longer name. So, Gaim 1.5.0 can't read logs written by 2.0.0 without the change. The patch I attached before makes Gaim 1.5.0 forwards compatible. This is useful to users who share their home directory across versions of Gaim, or who have used Gaim 2.0.0 and then gone back to 1.5.0 for whatever reason.
