In my case the problem is with deb packages and gdebi.
$ gvfs-mime --query application/x-deb
Default application for 'application/x-deb': ubuntu-software-center.desktop
Registered applications:
ubuntu-software-center.desktop
gdebi.desktop
file-roller.desktop
But when I try to select, in contextual menu, gdebi as default app I
can't because it isn't. I attach one screenshot.
