I can confirm this bug on 11.10 x64. I have just burned a DVD with 613 JPGs 
onit. Burning options were: write directly on disk (no intermediate image), use 
burnproof, DVD speed 3x, leave the disk open.
It completed the burning succesfully (apparently), then it started calculating 
the disk checksum. In the end, a message box said "manually eject the disk". 
Below it there was another message box reporting an error: it was something 
like "burning error, some files might be damaged".
It turned out the DVD is totally unreadable.

Man, i HATE regressions like these...
