Firefox doesn't use gstreamer. To verify, try rhythmbox and/or totem. If they
wok, this issue has nothing to do with gstreamer. Firefox uses libasound, so
I'm marking this as an alsa bug for now. Please run the following command to
collect audio information from your system
apport-collect 911577
