Public bug reported:
I mounted a(n albeit rather patchy android) FTP service and started
copying some files. It was working but then it just hung. Ok, probably
the phone I thought. But then other network stuff started hanging (e.g.
trying command line mount on a different server's samba/cifs share).
I went to shutdown my computer and ubuntu itself just sat there with the
orange/white dots going on and on. Hard reset.
Tried again with same result. Tried kill-ing off processes, but nothing
would make it stop.
Symptoms:
* file progress monitor hangs. Cancel button goes to depressed state,
but operation just sits there, never going away (well, I waited an
hour).
* Other network operations seem to get caught up in it.
Make it happen:
* start phone FTP service
* mount ftp
* start to copy large qty of data
* either deliberately or not: interrupt phone's service.
