I found a workaround without understanding what's going on:

1. backtrace said:
[..]
(gedit:7745): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: Settings schema 
'org.gnome.gedit.plugins.restoretabs' is not installed
[..]
#6  0x01448346 in frame_dealloc (f=Frame 0x89f7e64, for file 
/usr/lib/gedit/plugins/restoretabs/restoretabs.py
[..]

2. So I deleted the folder "/usr/lib/gedit/plugins/restoretabs/" manually
3. Now gedit is working normal again.

Any suggestions what was the actual problem?
