Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Precise Development Branch. 12.04

Ref Bug report #966574 and #964685.

indicator-applet fails to display high contrast icons when high contrast
theme used.

Fails basic Accessibility Standards.

Multiple High Contrast and High Contrast Inverse Icons needed to replace
default icons which are presently poor and inaccessible.

Amusingly - the one high contrast icon that was right in the app
indicator is the volume control - but only in High Contrast. Change to
high contrast inverse and it vanishes and not even a basic default to
replace it.

Power button also need to be in high contrast.

Issues can be seen in screen print -
