The file /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music- players.fdi defines known music players. We will need a stanza similar to the existing ones to get your player to work, in particular, the supported media formats, playback/recording capabilities, etc. The vendor/product ID can be obtained from hal-device-manager or lsusb.
