Here is how to reproduce the bug: 1) Make sure Empathy is closed first 2) Start Empathy by clicking on the Messaging Indicator and --> Chat 3) Right-click on Empathy's icon in the Unity Launcher and select "Open Preferences" 4) Close Empathy (it will run in the background) 5) Now go to the Messaging Indicator and press "Chat" again 6) Empathy's contact list window will appear together with the Properties window
