I really hate to upload confidential/personal data such as account names into publicly available Bug databases.
I've therefore filtered out the names of the other accounts that do not cause any trouble from the log, and replaced the name of the jabber server causing trouble with "somejabberserver". I've checked the gnome password repository, there's a correct entry for the password, exactly matching the account name (gabble/jabber/hadmut_40jabber_2esomejabberserver_2ede0 in this case) However, while debugging I've found incidently another bug, which did not cause this particular problem: telepathy-* tries to check certicates in $HOME/.config/telepathy/certs , but /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.telepathy lacks an entry for this directory, the kernel therefore denies reading those certificates. If you do not see the problem immediately, I'd propose to postpone this bug for a week, since Ubuntu 12.04 is expected to be published this week and I will upgrade at least two machines and see whether the bug still exists and whether it exists on this particular machine only regards ** Attachment added: "Mission Control Log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/986689/+attachment/3099819/+files/mc1.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986689 Title: Can't connect to jabber: missing password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/986689/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
