Public bug reported:

When copying and pasting, (.odf file in this case, but I have
experienced this with other files), upon right-clicking the file, I
think I remember 'Copy' being OK (Not greyed out), but when I select
'Paste' on the location I want it, it appears greyed out on the right-
click menu. This is not just in Nautilus but I have experienced this
when pasting to the Desktop as well, so this would appear to be
something to do with all of Ubuntu (I didn't know how to report a bug
for this).

Using:
IBM ThinkPad R50e
739MB RAM
Intel Celeron (R) M Processor 1.4GHz
Using Unity 2D
