When I try to open folders via the utility (nautilus  I think) either
nothing happens or ity opens and freezes. This seems to happen
intermittently. Sometimes there is a very long delay and response is
restored. Ocassionally the whole macjine freezes and all menues and the
toolbar disappear completly from the desktop

I am using Ubuntu 11.04
