I don't think this bug is a duplicate of bug #970560. In fact robert
doesn't say his monitor is seen as "laptop", but his Desktop, those big
boxes we had in our home until some years ago, nowadays replaced by
laptops :)
In fact i recently noticed that on two desktops (one is mine, the other
is of a friend of mine) their monitor are seen as "laptop" instead of
the real name of the monitor. In addiction to this I have to say that
both computers have a NVIDIA graphic card, but I suspect this
misbehavior is present also with ATI ones
