** Description changed:

  After upgrading from 0.12.9 to 0.13 shotwell starts rewriting metadata
  on every launch, going through the progress with the ever-slowing pace
  (i.e., each next % passes longer than the previous one). Upon reaching
  99% it never completes the operation, I left it working through the
