It seems that this was a GSettings key that got unset, probably as plugins were being changed through the release. I was able to fix this by reenabling the media keys plugin like this:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys active true ** Package changed: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu Quantal) => gnome- settings-daemon (Ubuntu Quantal) ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056821 Title: Quantal: ctl-alt-t does not bring up terminal after updating To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1056821/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
