Public bug reported:
Currently uninstalling the gdm package will cause gdm service to be
stopped if there is not a current X session existing on display :0. In
the case where X is on a different display (say :1) then the result of
stopping gdm, will cause this X session to be killed.
Obviously we don't want this to happen, and it would be particularly bad
if this was to happen during a dist-upgrade.
We should remove the code that tries to stop gdm from debian/gdm.prerm
(on precise).
