You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whenever an open-file dialog appears, it presents all files, including hidden. The setting Show hidden files in the preferences of Nautilus is OFF. Of course I can always click Ctrl+H or right-click and disable showing hidden files. But it's annoying!

The problem was discussed: http://askubuntu.com/questions/109571/open-file-dialog-defaults-to-showing-hidden-files and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1131710 The Ctrl+H solution is not a solution, its only a workaround... ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Assignee: Timothy Arceri (t-fridey) Status: In Progress ** Affects: nautilus Importance: Wishlist Status: Confirmed ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Confirmed ** Tags: dialog hidden nautilus -- Hidden files always visible in open file dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039014 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
