Ok, PPA is ppa:t-fridey/t-arceri-gvfs-ppa Please test with no remote files open for first timeout. Hopefully the sftp mount will be unmounted and you will be able to remount it.
Next please test with a remote file open when the timeout happens hopefully again the sftp mount will be unmounted. (you may receive and error message from the program with the open file this is expected.)
