Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal
On our Sun x4600, there is a phantom CPU load of about 9.4 and no processes seemingly consuming resources. /proc/interrupts reveals that the ohci_hcd kernel module is spewing interrupts and when it is unloaded the CPU load goes down. Unfortunately this removes keyboard and mouse support which is important. google revealed similar reports: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5112957 http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg45814.html Ryan ** Affects: hal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- ohci_hcd driver causes interrupt flood, high load https://launchpad.net/bugs/80539 -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
