Public bug reported:

This might be related to bug #1053550. However this problem is now
occuring after a few minutes within a gnome session. I am currently
using the xorg-edgers ppa and now this error occurs.

Prior to loading the xorg-edgers ppa, my desktop sessions would freeze
and would have to resort to restarting lightdm to get a desktop session
back. The error that occurred prior to me testing with the xorg-edgers
ppa was:

May 20 10:31:37 tank kernel: [ 9246.195078] [drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR*
Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
May 20 10:31:37 tank kernel: [ 9246.195086] [drm] capturing error event; look
for more information in /debug/dri/0/i915_error_state

I have also been seeing a lot of these entries over the last two weeks:

Not sure if it is related, but I'm posting it here just in case.

I am now going to attempt loading the proprietry drivers to see if this
resolves my previous problem.
