Or course this could be a new bug with paste grayed out but a new bug report was entered and was marked as a duplicate of this one (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/949468) so others seem to think it is the same root problem. If someone wants to release a new feature I would highly suggest quality control.
