With latest g-s-d ( 3.8.5-0ubuntu2 Interactive on power button now works correctly
As far as laptop lid close. As far as I can see there are now only 2 'real' options, Do nothing or suspend. All options in gsettings other than do nothing will suspend As far as "Do nothing" - in the past that would blank the screen on lid close, in 13.10 that doesn't happen, too bad, (may be intentional, not possible or hardware specific. An additional new 'too bad' concerning power is seen here.
