Sorry if this isn't helpful, but I just wanted to add that this has some
potential to be considered somewhat urgent - possibly resulting in
hardware damage.  I have had this happen several times: close lid,
unplug, put laptop in case/bag, open laptop hours later with a cranking
fan and awful smell of hot electronics.
